Sealing cord stove seal round 06mm with metal wire 1.5m

This grey fireproof sealing cord (glass knit cord based on E-glass fibre) is wrapped with metal wire. The wire provides increased stability and better grip.

The areas of application range from the door of fireplace or tiled stove inserts to sealing lids on coal stoves.

Please ensure that the fireproof sealing cord is and remains elastic at all times. Over time, the fire-resistant stove seal can harden. The fireplace door no longer closes flush, and your stove draws in false air. This results in higher combustion temperatures, causing the interior lining to wear out much faster. In the worst case, the body itself can warp. Therefore, replace the stove sealing cord in good time.

There can be various reasons for such hardening. Overheating with larger fill quantities than specified in the respective operating instructions, as well as the use of unsuitable and aggressive cleaning agents, can significantly shorten the service life. Protect the sealing cords from moisture during cleaning, more specifically from cleaning agents. Do not brush off or clean mechanically in any other way. Do not let the ash or embers bed rise so high that the sealing cords are exposed to direct flame or embers.

Our matching sealing cord adhesive is particularly suitable for bonding the fireproof sealing cord to the stove body. Clean the surface beforehand of any old sealing cord residue and adhesive, as otherwise the sealing cord will sit too thickly and the door latch will be stiff to operate. Cut the stove seal to size and then press it into the corresponding groove that has been coated with adhesive. Allow to dry for a few hours, and you can once again heat safely and with peace of mind.

Please note: The wire-wrapped sealing cords are somewhat more stable in themselves and can therefore be compressed less than a comparable seal without brass wire.
