With this black fire-resistant sealing cord (glass knit cord based on E-glass fibre), you can quickly and reliably seal glass ceramic panes or doors of fireplace or tiled stove inserts.

Please ensure that the fire-resistant sealing cord always remains elastic. Over time, the fire-resistant sealing cord may harden. The stove glass then sits firmly against the stove body or in the door frame and can no longer expand due to temperature differences. In the worst case, the pane may crack. In this case, the fire-resistant sealing cord must be replaced.

The reasons for such hardening can vary. Overheating with higher filling quantities than specified in the respective operating instructions, as well as the use of unsuitable and aggressive cleaning agents, can significantly shorten the service life. Protect the sealing cords from moisture and cleaning agents during cleaning. Do not brush off or clean mechanically in any other way. Do not allow the ash or embers bed to rise so high that the sealing cords are exposed to direct flame.

Our matching sealing cord adhesive is particularly suitable for gluing the fire-resistant sealing cord to the stove body. First clean the surface of any old sealing cord residue and adhesive. Cut the stove seal to size and press it into the corresponding groove coated with adhesive. Allow to dry for a few hours, and you can once again heat safely and worry-free.
