Fire-resistant self-adhesive profile seal, sealing cord 18 × 6 mm for, among others, your Schmid fireplace, for clamping/gluing into the fireplace door. This beige fire-resistant sealing cord is based on E-glass fibre and offers long durability.

Please make sure that the fire-resistant sealing cord always remains elastic. Over time, the seal may harden. In this case, the stove glass sits tightly against the stove body and can no longer expand due to temperature differences. In the worst case, the glass may crack. In such cases, the fire-resistant sealing cord must be replaced in good time.
The seal is designed to be clamped into the fireplace door. The adhesive surface is provided to ease installation, not to hold this seal permanently in a specific position. For that purpose, you would need to use sealing cord adhesive or high-temperature silicone. The light-coloured film covering this adhesive surface does not adhere very strongly and may lift slightly due to cutting and shipping. If you have ordered a bit extra to be able to replace the seal again in 2 years, please press the film back down by hand.
Please also note that the binding components in the adhesive film decompose at approximately 80 °C to 100 °C.
Cut the stove seal to size and clamp it into the corresponding rail. Of course, you can also glue it if your stove does not have a clamping mechanism.
You can immediately continue heating safely and without concern.
