Bimetal for oil stove with automatic ignition aid

Some, mainly newer, oil furnaces are equipped with an “automatic ignition aid”. Additional combustion air is supplied to the ignited oil through an opening in the oil inlet, thereby accelerating the ignition and heating process in the evaporation burner. A bimetal strip on the outside of the combustion chamber closes the flap over the air opening as the oven heats up.
