What are Bassine bristles?

Bassine is a particularly durable natural fibre obtained from the leaf ribs of the Palmyra palm. The Palmyra palm grows primarily in India and Sri Lanka. Due to their high strength, abrasion resistance, and flexibility, Bassine fibres have proven especially effective as bristle material for stove pipe cleaners and flue brushes.

The natural fibres allow for thorough cleaning of smoke and flue gas pipes without unnecessarily damaging the interior surfaces of the pipe.
