Window contact switch as built-in system, DIBt tested

The chimney operates "in reverse." Why? A bathroom fan or a range hood can draw exhaust gases into the home through the chimney. This must be prevented so that no one comes to harm.

The Ordinance on Combustion Installations (FeuV § 4, Installation of Combustion Appliances) stipulates that when a room-air-dependent combustion appliance (e.g., fireplace, wood-burning stove, gas boiler) and exhaust fans (e.g., range hood) are operated simultaneously in a home, it must be ensured that no carbon monoxide is drawn out of the combustion appliance. As soon as an exhaust system is switched on, negative pressure is created in the enclosed room. Pressure equalization must then only occur through the inflow of fresh air from outside, not via the combustion appliance. This is reliably ensured by the exhaust safety switch, since the range hood only starts operating once the window has been opened.

The window contact switch can be easily retrofitted. Quickly and simply, you can be protected from the range hood drawing harmful exhaust gases out of your fireplace or wood-burning stove.

The control unit is conveniently installed as a plug-in adapter between the wall socket and the range hood. The sensor cable is 6 m long, to which the window monitor (transmitter + magnetic contact) is attached at the window. The exhaust system will now only switch on once the magnetic contact at the window has been interrupted, i.e., once the window has been opened or tilted.

The installed cable can be concealed using cable channels or laid under plaster.

This safety switch is, of course, DiBT-certified (DIBt approval no. Z-85.2-6).
