Why does a chimney work "in reverse"? A kitchen extractor hood or a bathroom extractor fan draws exhaust gases from the chimney into the home. This must not happen and must be prevented. People must not be put at risk.
The Ordinance on Fireplaces (FeuV § 4 Installation of Fireplaces) stipulates that, when a room-air-dependent fireplace (e.g. fireplace, wood-burning stove, gas boiler) and extractor fans (e.g. kitchen extractor hood) are operated simultaneously in a home/house, it must be ensured that no carbon monoxide is drawn out of the fireplace.
As soon as an extraction system is switched on, negative pressure builds up in the enclosed room. Pressure equalization may then only occur through the inflow of fresh air from outside, and not via the fireplace. This is reliably ensured by the extractor safety switch, since the kitchen extractor hood only starts operating once the window has been opened.
The window contact switch can easily be retrofitted. No cable needs to be laid afterwards. Quickly and simply, you are protected from the extractor hood drawing harmful exhaust gases out of your fireplace or wood-burning stove.
Installation type complete with FTX radio transmitter (window monitor) and external antenna.
It is technically identical to the window contact switch with radio transmission (item KL10311); however, the radio switch can be installed inside the kitchen extractor hood. The direct plug is not required, only the necessary cable. The external antenna, connected to the radio switch via 1 m of coaxial cable, must be mounted at a suitable location outside the kitchen extractor hood. Depending on the window position, the fan motor is switched off. The lighting remains functional and can be operated independently of the window position.
This radio safety switch is, of course, DIBt-certified (DIBt approval no. Z-85.2-5).
Low susceptibility to interference thanks to adjustable radio frequencies. High reliability thanks to microprocessor technology in the control unit acting as receiver and window monitor.
