Sealing cord oven seal round 06mm braided self-adhesive

With this fireproof round self-adhesive sealing cord, braided with cord (glass cord based on E-glass fiber), you can quickly and safely seal glass ceramic panes or doors of fireplace or tiled stove inserts. It is harder due to the additional cord, similar to the 6mm gasket with brass wire.

Make sure that the fireproof sealing cord is always elastic. Over time, the fire-resistant sealing cord may harden. The fireplace disc then sits firmly on the stove body or in the door frame and can no longer expand due to the temperature differences. In the worst case, the window will burst. The fireproof sealing cord now needs to be replaced. It also has to be elastic as a door seal, otherwise the seal to the body will not work and the oven will draw in the wrong air. Your stove will be damaged and will shrink due to higher temperatures in the combustion chamber.

The reasons for such hardening can be different. Overheating with higher filling quantities than specified in the respective operating instructions, as well as the use of unsuitable and aggressive cleaning agents can lead to a significant shortening of the service life. When cleaning, protect the sealing cords from moisture, or more precisely from cleaning agents. Do not brush or otherwise clean mechanically. Do not allow the bed of ash or embers to rise so high that the sealing cords are exposed to the direct flame.

The seal is self-adhesive, so you do not need sealing cord glue when clamping or otherwise fixing the seal. The self-adhesive properties make them easy and easier to work with. In other cases, the sealing cord must be fixed with sealing cord adhesive, as the binding components in the adhesive film decompose from approx. 80 °C to 100 °C.
