The chimney goes "upside down". Why ? A bathroom fan or an extractor hood can draw exhaust gases into the apartment via the chimney. This must be prevented so that no one is harmed.

The combustion ordinance (FeuV § 4 Setting up fireplaces) stipulates that when a fireplace that depends on the room air (e.g. fireplace, stove, gas boiler) and exhaust fans (e.g. extractor hood) are operated at the same time in an apartment / house, it must be ensured that no carbon monoxide is removed from the fireplace becomes. As soon as an exhaust system is switched on, a negative pressure is created in the closed room. Pressure equalization may then only take place via the flow of fresh air from outside and not via the fireplace. This is reliably guaranteed by the exhaust air safety switches, as the extractor hood only starts operating when the window is open.

The window contact switch can be easily retrofitted. Quickly and easily, you can be sure that the extractor hood does not draw any harmful exhaust gases out of your fireplace or stove.

The control unit is practically installed as an adapter plug between the socket and the extractor hood. The sensor cable is 6 m long, to which the window monitor (transmitter + magnetic contact) is attached to the window. The exhaust system now only switches on when the magnetic contact on the window has been interrupted, ie the window has been opened or folded.

You can hide the laid cable using cable rails or lay it flush-mounted.

This safety switch is of course DiBT certified (DIBt approval no. Z-85.2-6).
