Why does a chimney go “upside down”? A kitchen hood or toilet fan draws exhaust gases from the chimney into the apartment. This cannot be allowed and must be prevented. People must not be put at risk.

The combustion ordinance (FeuV § 4 Installation of fireplaces) stipulates that when a room air-dependent fireplace (e.g. fireplace, stove, gas boiler) and exhaust fans (e.g. extractor hood) are operated in an apartment/house at the same time, it must be ensured that no carbon monoxide is removed from the fireplace.

As soon as an exhaust system is switched on, a negative pressure is created in the closed room. Pressure equalization may then only take place via the flow of fresh air from outside and not via the fireplace . This is reliably guaranteed by the exhaust air safety switches, as the extractor hood only starts operating when the window is open.

The window contact switch can be easily retrofitted. No cable needs to be laid later. You are protected quickly and easily from the extractor hood not drawing harmful exhaust gases out of your fireplace or stove.

Installation type complete with radio transmitter FTX (window monitor) and external antenna.

It is technically identical to the window contact switch with radio transmission (item KL10311), but the radio switch can be installed inside the extractor house. There is no need for a direct plug, just the necessary cable. The external antenna, connected to the radio switch via a 1 m coaxial cable, must be attached to a suitable location outside the extractor hood. Depending on the window position, the fan motor is switched off. The lighting remains functional and can be operated regardless of the window position.

This radio safety switch is of course DIBt certified (DIBt approval no. Z-85.2-5).

Low susceptibility to interference thanks to adjustable radio frequencies. High reliability thanks to microprocessor technology in the control unit as receiver and window monitor.
Technical data: Connection 230 V/50 Hz, switching capacity 1150 watts (5 A), protection class IP20, frequency: 868 MHz
